Through Art
The pedagogy of Freire proposes a critical reading of the world that does not generate despair, but allows us to see the resistance, the ways to get ahead, to build the new, the permanent possibilities that human beings have to rebuild our lives.
Artistic Education is a fundamental tool that allows a social approach, a discovery of abilities and potentialities and sometimes generates a social change in multiple areas related to the intervention (individual, family, group, community). To close the year 2020, we wanted to provide a space for learning and developing creativity with the children of Putumayo during the contest and artistic training process "Putumayo through art", the photographs and paintings made by the children and Young people from Puerto Caicedo during the workshops reflected their views on Putumayo and its characters. We had two categories of participation: Painting Putumayo (Acrylic) and The beauty of Putumayo (Cellphone photography). Those who won had the opportunity to choose their prizes (photographic camera and tablet) in order to continue their learning, in addition the works of art were exhibited on social networks and on our website.

"What I like to show about my Putumayo is the Biodiversity that we have, that wide river that we love so much, that crystal clear water that does not need to be treated with chemicals, I also like to show that we have a very good view, that our sky is clear and every day it shows us different colors at sunrise and sunset, the folklore of our Puerto Caicedo municipality, what we love about fishing, dancing... Etc.”
